Long time, no post

Hello, my long lost blogging buddies!
I hope you have all been well.
Time has flown by since I became a mommy. I stay busy and preoccupied by the love and affection of my little man (who is growing like a weed). Can you believe he will be 7 months old on February 4th?!

He is still the best baby ever! He constantly has a smile on his face.
He's amazing.

I hope you are all doing wonderfully!

Born On The 4th Of July

I thought about writing out a long birth story but I'll just cut to the chase.
My little man will be 3 weeks old tomorrow! Easton came to us at 12:21 am on July 4th. (My little firecracker!) He weighed in at 7 lbs, 7 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long.
We all expected him to have dark hair like his daddy and half sister but he came out with a head full of light brown/blonde/reddish hair like me! He looks almost identical to me as a baby!
He is such a good baby. He cries only when he wakes up or is getting his diaper changed. The bond I share with this special little guy is like no other. Being a mother is definitely the most rewarding feeling I've ever known! I feel truly blessed!
Thanks for all of your comments and emails. We are all healthy and adjusting to this amazing life change.

An Update!

Hi there blogging buddies! I have slacked on updating all of you on my pregnancy. I am very sorry. Life is nothing short of hectic right now.
On May 15th I was told by my doctor that Easton is measuring bigger than he was before. I was supposed to be 32 weeks at that appointment but I was measuring 34 weeks!
I see my doctor this afternoon. I'll be getting an ultrasound to get an idea of how big he really is.
If he is still developing quickly, they'll change my due date.
I have dropped significantly in the last week. I am feeling a lot of pressure all of the time and when I stand up I feel like he's going to fall out!!!
There is a possibility that if he is very big, they will induce me between 38 and 39 weeks.
With that said, it is very likely little Easton will be here a lot sooner than we had originally thought!
I just wanted to let all of you know the status of my not-so-little peanut.
Thanks for all of your comments and emails concerning my pregnancy! You are all such wonderful gals!
I will be sure to update again soon!

Happy thrifting!

Well Hello, Blogland!

Wow! Has it really been over 2 months since I've posted a blog entry?!
I am so sorry my friends! Time has really caught up with my blog.
Being pregnant has taken over my love of thrifting. I find myself hitting up the baby sections of clothing stores and spending time gazing at kid stuff on Etsy!
One thing you should know (those of you who still follow this desolate blog), we had a very important doctor visit on February 19th.
We found out the sex of our little bundle.
It's a............
Yes. Our dreams came true! We are having a little boy!
Let me rewind a little bit.
At 13 weeks, when we went in for our NT scan (you can read about that here) we were given some news we kept to ourselves.
What I never shared with y'all is that our ultrasound tech told us she was 75% sure we were having a girl.
Let me back up a little further. Ha!
My husband has the cutest 4 year old daughter. I love this little girl with all of my heart! But, I have always pictured myself having a little boy. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I'm a tomboy at heart. I loved playing in the mud, eating the mud, building mud castles...I liked mud, okay!
When the ultrasound tech said girl...I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. Of course all we really want is a healthy baby but I think every mom-to-be has her heart set on a specific gender.
At that point we had nailed down a female name because we just 'knew' we were going to have a baby girl.
Fast forward to the anatomy scan on February 19th.
On the way to our appointment I was asking my step daughter how excited she was to see her baby sister. Of course she replied with, "or baby brother." I didn't have the heart to tell her she was gonna have a sister.
We finally got to the doctors office. I could tell all of the other women weren't as far along as me. I felt like the veteran of the group. And...we were about to find out the gender! :)
As the ultrasound tech was measuring body parts, she would remark with, "this is the ____ and it looks normal." etc. In the back of my mind I was thinking, "hurry up lady! Is there a penis or a vagina?!"
At one point she ran the wand across my belly and I just KNEW I saw 3 lines. The infamous 3 lines that signify the labia. I looked at my stepdaughter and said, "I know what it is.....". She got very excited and before I could say, "you're having a baby sister", the ultrasound tech blurted out, "annnnd, you're having a baby boy."
Holy s*#@&!!!! All I could do was cry! I looked at my husband and his eyes were filled with tears! It was one of the most amazing moments of my life. We were stunned! I mean, we WERE having a girl. Was she sure? Was there a you-know-what or was this just an educated guess?!
Well, ladies and is definite proof that I'm carrying a little boy...
(sorry for the grainy cell phone pic)
The ultrasound tech said, "I've seen a few of these in my're definitely having a boy."
Even though we found out we're having a boy just over 3 weeks ago, I am still in amazement.
We went several weeks thinking one thing, just to turn around and find out another!
He is the best surprise I've ever had in my life.
The tech gave us a few 3D pictures. This one is my favorite.
His little hand had been covering his face the whole time until she was able to sneak in like a ninja and capture this photo. :)
I'm getting pretty darn huge!
My feet are swelling, I have headaches almost daily, I pee almost every hour of the day and I'm always uncomfortable. But, I am one proud mommy!
We've decided to name him, Easton Adam. (my husband's name is Adam)
Easton is going to be one spoiled little boy! He has so many people on his team!

I have done some thrifting but for mainly Easton's nursery. I have found some vintage Pyrex as well. You know me...I can't thrift without picking up Pyrex! :)
I will be sharing those finds with you very soon.
If you are interested, I have added a baby ticker in my sidebar. It counts down the days until my due date, July 7th! :)

I hope all of you are doing well! Again, please excuse my absence.
Happy thrifting!

Swap Partner, Blow Mold Win & My Favorite Christmas Gift

In my absence of blog land, I have received a couple very fun packages.
The first was from Sue @ It's A Very Cherry World!
In December I participated in her "Shape It Up" Christmas Swap.
We were to make a tag or ornament in the shape of a Christmas symbol.
This is what I received from Sue.
How simply gorgeous is this tag?! I couldn't choose a favorite part of...there are too many cute details. How crafty? :) This will adorn my tree for years to come!
Sue added goodies in my package. Here's a peek!
I LOVE this globe! I have a larger version of this vintage Santa.
Sue sent me so many cute vintage Christmas goodies!
I love the polka dots and gingham on this tin! It came full of Christmas candy corn. (which I devoured in the matter of a couple of days)

Thank you so much Sue! I enjoyed being your partner in your hosted swap!
If you've never visited Sue, you must head over to her lovely blog NOW! Sue hosts REDNESDAY every Wednesday. Surely you've heard of it! ;)

Also in the month of December, Deb @ ZootsuitMama held a giveaway to win a vintage Halloween blow mold! Guess who won? Moi!
I haven't won very many giveaways, or many things in general; so I am always excited for a win!
Deb has the coolest retro decor ever!
Deb's blog was one of the first blogs I ever started following. She is an inspiration for anyone who admires and collects mid-century decor!
Thanks Deb, I can not wait until next year to use my new/vintage Halloween blow mold!

I had to share with y'all one of my favorite Christmas gifts.
My husband's great Aunt is such a sweet woman.
This past spring she started making quilts for everyone in the family.
She must have been a very busy lady because she made several of these quilts. This is the quilt we received for our home.
I didn't get a picture of the inside of this quilt, but it is a fleece material. It is so comfy!
We love it! Thank you Aunt Carolyn!

Happy Thursday and happy thrifting!

How I Rang In The New Year

On Monday, New Years Eve, we began ringing in the new year at the baby doctor!
I have reached 13 weeks (the final week of my 1st trimester).
Typically they like to do what is called a NT scan between weeks 11 & 14. An NT scan (nuchal translucency) is where they check for chromosomal abnormalities such as Down Syndrome as well as major congenital heart problems.
This test is just an assessment, it is not a diagnosis.
Abnormalities tend to accumulate more fluid at the back of their neck during the first trimester, causing this clear space to be larger than average.
I am happy to say baby is looking great! I am supposed to call next week for the official results but my OB assured me all looks perfect.
We got a few laughs during the ultrasound. Baby would not turn from his/her side for nothing! We were unable to get a perfect profile picture. But, I think this 3d profile picture turned out perfect. The ultrasound tech said baby looked to be praying. :)
The tech also commented on how active baby was. He/she was kicking up a storm! Of course I couldn't feel a thing. My hubby kept saying, "You really can't feel that?" Haha!
Baby had a heartbeat of 152 bpm and measured 3 inches long. 5 inches including leg length.
We got several pics from our visit, but this is my favorite and I had to share it...

I couldn't help but giggle when the tech got this view. I shouted, "I need a picture of that!"

I know my updates have been few and far between and have had nothing to do with vintage; I apologize for that. As you can see, I have had something else pre-occupying my mind. I assure you, I will be sharing vintage goodies very soon.
I hope everyone had a great holiday and Happy New Year!
Happy thrifting!
